My new friends (from the post-natal group) thought I was mad to insist on reusable nappies.
And then we had that oil tanker blockade, remember, in September 2000?
The supermarket shelves were soon clear of formula milk (Thank God I was breast-feeding!) and disposable nappies (Ha! Did I care?)
